Semester 2 : Perspective of curves

In this drawing there is a great amount of tonal and perspective depth. This is shown, firstly by the perspective the artist has drawn from, putting the and its surrounding area into the composition, this enabled them to layer up the different focal point i.e. the tree, buildings to the left and the curved atrium exterior the drawing which allows for the sense of depth through the viewers perspective.
The different tonal values also help add to this sense of depth due to subtle detail in both the base of the atrium where there is a mixture of dark and light shading to silhouette the light and shadows within the building itself due to whatever is inside.
There are more details on the curved roof of the atrium, where the artist has added the sense of light reflecting from its surface via using a mixture of light shading and highlighting to give the shown effect of the light. And overall the mixture of high detail and also impressionism to the scene make it very pleasing to the eye and also could have an implied line from the base of the tree across to the atrium, up onto its roof and then down and to the left of the accompanying buildings.
