Semester 2 : Landscape, angles in architecture

Here the artist has worked on landscapes, or more specifically the angles within the architecture. Firstly I will say that there is some good balance in the drawing, specifically between the contrast from the extremely dark windows and the immediate surrounding area which is very light and not really shaded in any way. All of which is balanced out by the shading which is done everywhere surrounding that which in itself shows lots of different lights and shadows in the scene. The windows are also good in their own right due to them being made up in the scene using a good method of negative space.
The scene itself has been very well observed and drawn in a general sense as the artist has made sure that the angles such as the corner of the structures or the railing towards the bottom have been put in place and also with the shading there is a lot of different tonal values which help add to the realism of the scene by helping create a great sense of depth within the image between the railing and the subsequent walls and the space underneath and the elevator and the main ceiling support in the centre of the scene.
