Semester 2 : Balance, weight and dynamism

In this set the artist has worked in the theme of ‘balance, weight and dynamism’ to capture the essence of movement and action within static poses. In this first picture it is evident that the artist has clearly observed the models pose and has managed to capture the way the model is putting weight onto his right arm which helps show that the actor could be in the active movement of either getting down or up from the seated position.  There has also been use of foreshortening on the majority of the models right side and slightly in the left thigh. The second drawing is a better display of dynamism as it is clearer that the model is being more active trough his boxing stance as the artist has managed to capture it very well. There is quite a lot of detail that has been well observed in the way the clothing which gives it a great sense of weight where the strength in some of the lines shows the way the clothes drape around the body. However there is something I would say about the arms as they seem to be slightly disproportionate to the rest of the body.
