These pictures in this set are in the theme of ‘Emotion in
posture and pose’ which is evident in the artists work. In the first two
pictures I can see that the artist has really managed to capture the emotions
that the model was portraying. This shows that the artist had the basic
anatomical knowledge which they used when drawing the model’s figure from their
perspective and thus from that and their successful show of gesture and mood
enabled them to capture the emotion being shown in the different forms of the
body in each of the drawings. For example the artist has managed to portray
stress, fear and shock in the figures labelled accordingly.
A similar thing can be said for the third drawing where the
artist has used their anatomical knowledge and their observational skills the
capture the model’s emotion. Here the artist has also used foreshortening to get
the realism on the anatomy from their perspective. This is most evident in the
left wrist and in the majority of the right arm. There is also a usage of a
strong line which helps create a focus point just where the right bicep meets
the left breast.
