Here the
artist has very clearly gone a more simplistic approach to drawing using a
different material. And even though overall this piece is very simplistic,
there is still a large amount of subtle details such as the amount of light and
shadow that has been implemented into this piece.
The artist has used slightly
different shades of here material in layers to apply the sense of depth via the
shadows in the scene in various places such as the doorway to the left, on the
bottom of the railing and in cubed objects in the bottom right. It also
contrasts really well with the overall intensity of the brightness in the
scene. Another subtle detail that also adds to the realism is in the glass
railing on the walkway.
The artist has managed to display the reflection of the
floor in the glass. They have also used a lot of lines to help strengthen
the differences of tone within all of the surfaces within the scene to help all
of them and the objects stand out from one another. There could also be an
implied line following the architectural curve that flows from the right to the
left of the drawing.
